Innovating Remote Sensing for Conservation

From the Bald Mountains of Southern Appalachia to the Boreal Forests along Lake Superior’s shores, EkoSight is advancing how sUAS-based remote sensing can reveal the ecological signatures that define each biome we serve. Our internal R&D program focuses on maximizing the capabilities of our multispectral platforms to automatically distinguish native habitats, identify sensitive flora and fauna, and detect invasive species that threaten ecological integrity. By continually refining our collection methods, spectral workflows, and AI‑driven analysis, we strengthen the scientific value of our mapping products and deliver deeper, more actionable insight to our conservation partners.

Drone Tech

EkoSight is launching a Drone Tech research program to design custom aircraft built specifically for conservation. Off‑the‑shelf drones limit what we can do, so we’re engineering platforms that support specialized sensors like lidar, thermal, bathymetric, methane, and more. By building the right drone for the right job, we can better map invasive species, endangered habitats, and even uncapped, abandoned oil wells with far greater precision, expanding our ability to create true environmental digital twins.

Deep Learning Models

EkoSight is raising the accuracy of deep learning models by utilizing high‑resolution image samples collected with our multispectral drones. These models use proven architectures such as U‑Net, DeepLabV3, and PSPNet, which are optimized for pixel‑level analysis, land‑cover classification, and ecological feature detection. All models we produce will be freely available to our members, enabling them to apply advanced geospatial intelligence directly to the content we provide for their stewardship work.

Agentic AI

EkoSight is developing a new class of Agentic AI tools that build on our broader research efforts to turn complex geospatial intelligence into simple, powerful applications for conservationists. These tools will help users identify ecological threats, monitor sensitive habitats, and act quickly on insights from our multispectral content — all without requiring remote‑sensing expertise. Every application we create will be freely available to our members, giving them advanced capabilities in an intuitive, field‑ready form.
